SOCCEROOS coach Holger Osieck has endorsed Mark Schwarzer's move to English Premier League giants Chelsea and is confident he will remain in good shape for next year's World Cup.
Schwarzer, who turns 41 in October, signed a one-year deal with the Blues after leaving Fulham on a free transfer at the end of last season.

It's an upward move on paper, but in reality it's also a risky one. Schwarzer will play second fiddle to Petr Cech and certainly won't be guaranteed weekly game time under new manager Jose Mourinho.
It's the kind of move Osieck has previously warned against making, but the German revealed he discussed the option with Schwarzer before it was announced and supports his decision.

"I think it's a very good move for him," Osieck told The Daily Telegraph.
"It's a great club and I wish him all the best of course because he needs to play in order to stay fit for our team and I'm pretty sure with his professional attitude he can manage it.
"I'm pretty sure he will (play). Knowing him and his ambitions he definitely will, because otherwise why did he sign in the first place."
Before moving to Fulham, Schwarzer played 366 league matches for Middlesbrough. After transferring to Craven Cottage he became the first overseas player to make more than 500 Premier League appearances.
He'll be hoping to add to that number, but getting the gloves off Cech is going to take some doing.
Chelsea played a total of 69 matches last season the Czech International appeared in 59 of them.
Schwarzer told Chelsea's official website that there were other clubs interested in getting his signature, but the opportunity to work under Mourinho was too good to refuse.

"It's a phenomenal club," he said.
"It's one of the biggest and best clubs in the world and it's an honour to sign for Chelsea. I didn't take much convincing to come here.
"I still have a lot of aspirations to play for my country. I want to play another World Cup. We've just qualified for Brazil and I want to continue to play at the highest level for as long as possible."
Watch former Socceroos shot-stopper Mark Bosnich offer his view on Schwarzer's move the Chelsea just 12 months out from the World Cup.
