THERE was no giant-killing on the South Coast as the Mariners overcame a spirited Wolves side to claim their first ever FFA Cup win.
Glen Trifiro's first half goal was enough to send the Central Coast team through to the next round, but they were made to fight for the win.
Over 5000 fans braved a chilly evening in Wollongong for the historic FFA Cup clash and created a brilliant atmosphere at WIN Stadium
The night's second match kicks off at 9.30pm (EST), with Melbourne Victory making its Cup debut against Bayswater City at the Western Australia Athletics Stadium in Perth.
The hosts lead the WA NPL and are coached by former Socceroo Chris Coyne, who has former A-League players Jamie Coyne, Todd Howarth, Sam Mitchinson and Devon Spence at his disposal.
Victory coach Kevin Muscat could unleash signings Besart Berisha, Carl Valeri and Matthieu Delpierre on their opponents as the side looks to join fellow A-League sides Sydney FC, Perth Glory, Adelaide United and Brisbane Roar in the last 16.
