A double to Steve Matai see's Manly Sea Eagles beat Brisbane Broncos 22-14 at Suncorp Stadium in their NRL clash on Friday night.
The centre was brilliant as was halfback Daly Cherry-Evans in their first game of the 2013 season.

It was a slow star for the visitors with the Broncos starting well.
Justin Hodges served up a superb pass in a tackle for Matt Gillett to score in the 19th minute after Scott Prince had knocked over a simple penalty several minutes earlier.
Gillett powered onto the pass and almost knocked Manly fullback Brett Stewart into the stands and he bolted across the tryline.
Manly centre Steve Matai cut the margin to 8-6, crossing wide out in the left corner after a sweeping shift instigated by halfback Daly Cherry-Evans.
Brisbane's next try was a classic, reviving memories of the club's glory days.
With members of the club's 1988 side including captain Wally Lewis in the stands, Brisbane turned on the razzle dazzle with Prince and finally Hodges producing perfect flick passes for winger Lachlan Maranta to score.
Prince kicked his third goal to give the home side a 14-6 lead at half-time.
A revitalised Sea Eagles appeared after the break, striking early courtesy of a solo try from Cherry-Evans.
The young half stepped past Peter Wallace and beat another three defenders to go across the line.
Trailing by two points, Matai ran 37 meters and despite a desperate effort from Prince he secured his second try of the evening.
18-14 and a handling error from Jack Reed, thanks to a heavy shot from Cherry-Evans had David Williams stroll over.
