Six months of frustration appear over for Ryan Harris with the ex-Test quick being named in his first Queensland side since serious shoulder surgery last year.

The burly fast bowler is set to be given the green light to run with the Bulls in Saturday's one-day clash with Victoria at the MCG, capping a frustrating stint on the sidelines since going under the knife in August.

Harris, 33, must pass a final fitness test on Thursday morning but has been included in the Bulls squad taking on the Bushrangers.

However, he has not been asked to back up in Queensland's Sheffield Shield clash with Victoria starting on Monday.

Harris played the last of his 12 Tests on the West Indies tour last April but, since then, has been challenged by the latest on a long list of injuries.

However, Queensland chairman of selectors Trevor Hohns was confident Harris would take the first step towards breaking back into the Test team this weekend.

"Ryan is building his match fitness nicely but, at this stage, it is best if we continue to take a patient approach," Hohns said of Harris missing the Shield clash.

"As long as everyone is happy with how things are tomorrow, playing in the one-dayer will be a good, manageable target for him."

The Bulls have also rewarded Brisbane grade cricketers, with Joe Burns, Cameron Boyce and Ben Cutting called up for Australia A's upcoming clashes with England Lions.

Left-handed batsman Dominic Michael and 20-year-old quick Ronan McDonald are set to make their Bulls debuts.

Michael, 25, has been selected in the one-day and Shield line-ups while McDonald is in the squad for the four-day clash.

Bulls one-day squad: James Hopes (capt), Luke Pomersbach, Peter Forrest, Greg Moller, Nathan Reardon, Dominic Michael, Chris Hartley, Nathan Hauritz, Cameron Gannon, Alister McDermott, Matthew Gale, Ryan Harris. (12th man to be named)

Bulls Shield squad: James Hopes (capt), Greg Moller, Luke Pomersbach, Peter Forrest, Nathan Reardon, Dominic Michael, Chris Hartley, Nathan Hauritz, Cameron Gannon, Alister McDermott, Matthew Gale, Ronan McDonald. (12th man to be named)
