Berry would not elaborate on what was said during the heated exchange, just before the KFC T20 Big Bash League clash at Etihad Stadium.
CA released a statement saying Berry and the Strikers had been informed of the hearing.
"Berry is alleged to have breached rule six: unbecoming behaviour regarding his comments and behaviour towards Renegades player Marlon Samuels before the match at Etihad Stadium," the statement said.
"Rule six states that "players and officials must not at any time engage in behaviour unbecoming to a representative player or official that could (a) bring them or the game of cricket into disrepute or (b) be harmful to the interests of cricket."
The time and date of the hearing is yet to be determined.
It is the second time Samuels has become embroiled in an incident with a rival coach after Brisbane Heat mentor Darren Lehmann alleged the West Indies star of chucking.
Lehmann was reprimanded by CA for his outburst.
