Zings Stumps, where bails light up when they become dislodged from the stumps, have come into play for the first time in a professional cricket match.
Cricket fans got their first taste of the Zings in action in the KFC T20 Big Bash League opener between Melbourne Renegades and Melbourne Stars.
Renegades wicketkeeper Peter Nevill whipped off the bails in trying to sneak a stumping early in the Stars innings, and while he didn't get the wicket, he did get to play a part in history.
The Zings Stumps came into play a few minutes later when key batsman Brad Hodge was run out by South African star Faf du Plessis for 28.
