Melbourne Renegades have shot to the top of the Big Bash League ladder, comfortably overhauling a modest total set by Sydney Thunder.
Aaron Finch (31 off 33 balls) and Ben Rohrer (27 off 20) ensured the Renegades overhauled the Thunder's total of 116, steadying the ship in the middle overs after a slow start from the top order.
But it was the Renegades bowlers who set up the Melbourne side's second consecutive win, with Sri Lankan star Muttiah Muralitharan claiming 2-16 off his four overs.

The Thunder's star opening pairing of Chris Gayle and Usman Khawaja were well contained by the Renegades bowlers and the momentum never really changed after Gayle was run out for a sedate innings of 12 off 13 balls.
Young all-rounder Chris Tremain (37 not out off 23 balls) paired with wicketkeeper-batsman Ryan Carters to stage a late rally for the Thunder after at one stage it looked as though they'd be bowled out well short of their 20 overs.
But the home side's total of 116 never looked like it would be enough and after Rohrer's mid-innings cameo, the Renegades put the result beyond doubt.
More to come...
